Last Day of school is always a rough one, especially for Katie. She hates saying goodbye to her teacher and friends for the summer. This is Mrs. Valentine and Mrs. Corvaia was already gone at the end of the day.
The classic 5th grade clap out. All the teachers and kids leaving Jeremy get to participate in the clap out. The whole school and parents line up from the school building, snaking their way all over, down to the playground. Those leaving then walk through the lined up kids while everyone claps for them. It is very emotional for a lot of kids and me too. All the 5th graders riding home on the bus that last day from school get to honk the horn of the bus. There is a lot of commotion, energy, excitement, and sadness. I have yet to miss a clap out.
